Basketball Game Preview: Blair Vikings vs. Temple City Rams

Blair is 0-10 against Temple City since February of 2016 but things could change on Wednesday. The Blair Vikings will host the Temple City Rams at 5:30 p.m.

Blair is headed into Wednesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 16th straight game dating back to last season on Friday. They were dealt a 92-7 loss at the hands of South Pasadena. The game marked the Vikings' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, everything went Temple City's way against Mayfair on Saturday as Temple City made off with a 60-34 victory. The Rams have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 23 points or more this season.

Blair better keep an eye on Alexis Yoshimura. She was instrumental in Temple City's win, going 9 of 14 from beyond the arc on her way to 31 points and three steals. The dominant performance gave Yoshimura a new career-high in points. Abigail Yoshimura was another key player, putting up eight points and five steals.

Temple City is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.2 points per game. As for Blair, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-8.

Blair was taken down by Temple City 59-28 in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Temple City's Erica Yang, who shot 4-for-4 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten boards.
