Riverwood posted their closest win since August 26th on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Woodstock Wolverines 6-4. The win continues a trend for the Raiders in their matchups with the Wolverines: they've now won three in a row.

May Weis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Leah Weis, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted since back in August. The team also got some help courtesy of Audrey Busch, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Riverwood's record is now 10-8. As for Woodstock, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-15.

Coming up, Riverwood will venture away from home to face off against North Atlanta at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Woodstock, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Kennesaw Mountain at 6:00 p.m. on the 29th. The Wolverines' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mustangs have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season.
