The third road game was the charm for Savannah, as they earned their first away win of the season. They walked away with a 19-6 victory over the Claxton Tigers on Friday. The Bluejackets' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Savannah didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Tyshaun Coleman and Caden Wright. Another thorn in Claxton's side was Eli Frieson, who made 11 total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Savannah's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Claxton, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Savannah will head out to face off against Screven County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Gamecocks' defense has only allowed 6.7 points per game this season, so the Bluejackets' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Claxton, they will venture away from home to square off against Portal at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers will be up against the Panthers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 35 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
