Baseball Recap: Savannah Country Day Comes Up Short

Savannah Country Day was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Screven County Gamecocks, falling 15-4. One positive for the Hornets, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Brooks Kleinpeter made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 2-for-2. What's more, he posted two hits, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.

Savannah Country Day's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Screven County, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Savannah Country Day will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Hilton Head Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hilton Head Christian Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season. As for Screven County, they will be playing at home against Claxton at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Screven County will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.
