Baseball Recap: Bryan County Gets the Win

It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Bryan County ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Portal Panthers, sneaking past 3-2. The victory continues a trend for the Redskins in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won six in a row.

Eli Koskela made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Bryan County is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 5-7 otherwise. Koskela was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Koskela wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was AJ Thomas, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Bryan County's win bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Portal, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7.

Bryan County will have a chance to go back-to-back against Portal: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
