Kingsburg has gone a perfect 8-0 against Mt. Whitney recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Kingsburg Vikings will square off against the Mt. Whitney Pioneers at 6:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Last Tuesday, Kingsburg was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 49-43 to Selma. The defeat continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Bears: they've now lost six in a row.

Meanwhile, Mt. Whitney was not able to break out of their rough patch last Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 71-36 defeat at the hands of Redwood. The Pioneers were down 51-30 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Kingsburg will need to focus on slowing down Ivy Carter, one of several Mt. Whitney players who made an impact when they last played. She posted six points.

Even though they lost, Mt. Whitney smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in five consecutive games.

Mt. Whitney's loss dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Kingsburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-12.

Kingsburg took their victory against Mt. Whitney in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 by a conclusive 57-33. Does Kingsburg have another victory up their sleeve, or will Mt. Whitney turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
