Football Game Preview: Johnson County Central Thunderbirds vs. Omaha Christian Guardians

The Johnson County Central Thunderbirds will square off against the Omaha Christian Guardians at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Johnson County Central will be strutting in after a win while Omaha Christian will be coming in after a loss.

Johnson County Central will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up eight points last Friday, then bounced right back against Freeman on Friday. The Thunderbirds were the clear victors by a 44-22 margin over the Falcons. The Thunderbirds might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Omaha Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 59-14 loss at the hands of Lourdes Central Catholic. The contest marked the Guardians' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Johnson County Central's victory was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1. Those road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 52.2 points this season. As for Omaha Christian, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Everything came up roses for Johnson County Central against Omaha Christian when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 72-18 victory. In that matchup, the Thunderbirds amassed a halftime lead of 58-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
