Baseball Recap: Walker Finds Playoff Glory Versus Fellowship Christian

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Walker had no problem doing just that on Friday. They skirted past the Fellowship Christian Paladins 7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Wolverines have posted since March 17th.

The team relied heavily on Jonathan Griggs, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Walker's success: when he posts at least three RBI the team is undefeated (and 9-16 when he doesn't). Brendan Finger was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

The victory snapped Walker's losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 12-16 record. As for Fellowship Christian, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 20-7.

Walker will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Paladins: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
