Basketball Recap: Kendall Kitchen's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Canton over Mansfield

Canton lost against Mansfield back in December of 2014 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Canton Warriors took a 41-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mansfield Tigers.

Canton's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kendall Kitchen, who posted 14 points and six steals. Kitchen is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played. Cailyn Vannoy was another key player, putting up eight points and four steals.

Canton's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Mansfield, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-3.

Canton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 61-27 defeat against Northeast Bradford on the 8th. As for Mansfield, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 42-32 loss against Athens on the 8th.
