Softball Recap: Echols County Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Clinch County, Echols County was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Atkinson County Rebels as they made off with a 17-1 victory. Considering the Wildcats' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Echols County's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Atkinson County, their loss was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Echols County will head out to square off against Valwood at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Atkinson County, they are packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will take on Brooks County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
