Softball Recap: Apalachee Extends Winning Streak to Three

Apalachee entered their tilt with Oconee County on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Warriors 16-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-7 two weeks ago.

Gracie Sikes was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sanai Minaird, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with four RBI and two runs.

Apalachee always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .704. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Apalachee's win bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Oconee County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-14.

Coming up, Apalachee will square off against Habersham Central at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Raiders have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.94 runs per game on average), something the Wildcats will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Oconee County, they will host Cherokee Bluff at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
