Basketball Recap: MacDonald Takes a Loss

MacDonald was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 70-5 defeat at the hands of the Mountain View Spartans. While losing is never fun, the Condor can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1180th, while the Spartans are ranked 296th).

Mountain View's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Alana Hernandez, who went 10 for 16 en route to 24 points and four steals. Hernandez's evening made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Fiona Lee was another key player, going 6 of 11 on her way to 13 points and three steals.

MacDonald's loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Mountain View, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-3.

MacDonald wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 37-29 victory against El Primero on the 22nd. As for Mountain View, they will welcome Gunn at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Mountain View has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
