St. Francis' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chidera Okoye, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Okoye is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Bria McGahan, who scored 16 points along with five steals and two blocks.
Elk Grove bumped their record down to 3-14 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 24.0 points per game. As for St. Francis, their victory bumped their record up to 9-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Elk Grove will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Franklin at 6:30 p.m. on January 19th. As for St. Francis, they will head out on the road to face off against Pleasant Grove at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
