Basketball Recap: Northeastern Takes a Loss

Northeastern was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. The matchup between them and the South Western Mustangs didn't end well, with the Northeastern Bobcats falling 54-36. The Bobcats were probably out for revenge after losing 60-34 to them when the teams met back in January of 2022, then they'll just have to keep looking.

When it comes to explaining why Northeastern lost, don't look at Lauralye Kennedy. Despite the final result, she posted 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nylah Davis, who earned eight points.

Northeastern's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for South Western, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northeastern will welcome Columbia at 7:30 p.m. on December 27th. As for South Western, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Susquehannock at 6:45 p.m. on January 6, 2025.
