Basketball Recap: Olympian Eagles vs. Eastlake Titans

The Olympian Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 53-52 to Eastlake. Olympian was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Titans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.

Despite the loss, Olympian still got an impressive performance from Asia Darcuiel, who scored 36 points along with two steals. That was a full 69.2% of Olympian's points, marking the seventh time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Alyssa Lewis was another key contributor, scoring eight points.

Olympian struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Eastlake racked up 11 assists.

Leading Eastlake to victory were Mia Jones and Jada White. Jones scored 19 points along with six rebounds, while White dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Helen Rosales, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds.

Olympian's defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 12-11. As for Eastlake, they now have a winning record of 13-12.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Olympian will take on the Falcons at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Eastlake, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Barons at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Bonita Vista is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.
