Football Recap: Scottsbluff's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four

If McCook wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Scottsbluff, they should've done a better job of containing Nate Kelley. The Bearcats strolled past the Bison with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 21-7 for which the team can thank Kelley, who rushed for 207 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 63 yards.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Scottsbluff's defense and their three sacks. Hayden Schmer refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself.

The win (which was Scottsbluff's fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 5.3 points on average over those games. As for McCook, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-2.

Coming up, Scottsbluff will welcome York at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for McCook, they will head out to square off against Lexington at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
