Basketball Game Preview: Santa Ana Valley Falcons vs. Rancho Alamitos Vaqueros

The Santa Ana Valley Falcons will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against the Rancho Alamitos Vaqueros at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

It was a Battle of the Birds when Santa Ana Valley faced off against Calvary Chapel last Thursday. Santa Ana Valley fell to Calvary Chapel 42-36. While the Falcons didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Eagles 15-3 in the first quarter.

Meanwhile, Rancho Alamitos suffered their biggest loss since November 26th on Thursday. They were beaten by El Modena 61-31. The matchup was a close 24-21 at the break, but unfortunately for the Vaqueros it sure didn't stay that way.

Santa Ana Valley's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Rancho Alamitos, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.

Santa Ana Valley ended up a good deal behind Rancho Alamitos in their previous matchup back in December of 2017, losing 47-32. Can Santa Ana Valley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
