Recap: Bakersfield Christian Eagles vs. Clovis Cougars
It was a good run, but the Bakersfield Christian Eagles unfortunately witnessed the end of their ten-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 67-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of Clovis. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
When it comes to explaining why Bakersfield Christian lost, one person who can't be blamed is Alexis Bila. Despite the final result, she scored 21 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Destiny Francies, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 12 rebounds.
Bakersfield Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 19-7. As for Clovis, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 16-11.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bakersfield Christian will take on Highland at 5:45 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in Bakersfield Christian's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Highland has been banged up by seven consecutive losses on the road. Clovis will take on Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Clovis' favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four games.
