Softball Recap: Rock Canyon Starts Season with Victory Against Smoky Hill + How To Watch

Rock Canyon had to kick off their season on the road on Monday, but they showed no ill effects. They were the clear victors by a 24-11 margin over the Smoky Hill Buffaloes. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Jaguars also won the last time the pair played back in August of 2024.

Avery Cochran was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, four RBI, and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lucy Ueland, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles.

Coming up, Rock Canyon will be taking part in a tournament against Vista Ridge at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Smoky Hill, they will venture away from home to square off against Northglenn at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
