Soccer Game Preview: Mainland vs. St. Joseph Academy

The Mainland Buccaneers will venture away from home to take on the St. Joseph Academy Flashes at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Mainland has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with three straight defeats, while St. Joseph Academy will come in with three straight wins.

Mainland fell victim to University and their airtight defense on Monday. They lost 3-0 to the Titans.

Meanwhile, St. Joseph Academy kept a clean sheet against Englewood on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by an 8-0 margin over the Rams. Considering the Flashes have won six contests by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit Englewood with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Hayleah Bagnato (2), Angelina Hemelt (2), Amy Bowler (2), and Belle Alford (2).

Mainland's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for St. Joseph Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 6-4.

Mainland might still be hurting after the 5-0 defeat they got from St. Joseph Academy in their previous meeting on Thursday. Can Mainland avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
