Basketball Game Preview: Westlake Charter Explorers vs. Fortune Early College Panthers

Westlake Charter hasn't had much luck against Fortune Early College recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Westlake Charter Explorers will take on the Fortune Early College Panthers at 6:00 p.m. Westlake Charter will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Fortune Early College is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Delta just ended the team's six-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 48-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Saints. While the Panthers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Saints 15-11 in the first quarter.

Westlake Charter will have to contain Heaven Graves as she made an impact in Fortune Early College's last game. She posted 18 points. Another player making a difference was Zoe Rocha, who scored ten points.

Westlake Charter is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 16.3 points per game. As for Fortune Early College, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 9-8.
