Soccer Game Preview: Prince Avenue Christian vs. Putnam County

The Prince Avenue Christian Wolverines will head out on the road to square off against the Putnam County War Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Prince Avenue Christian has now lost 11 straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since February 18.

Prince Avenue Christian managed to keep up with Lake Oconee Academy until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Wolverines came up short against the Titans, falling 6-0. While losing is never fun, Prince Avenue Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 414th, while Lake Oconee Academy are ranked 127th).

Meanwhile, Putnam County was able to grind out a solid win over Oglethorpe County on Tuesday, taking the game 5-3. The victory continues a trend for Putnam County in their matchups with Oglethorpe County: they've now won five in a row.

Putnam County's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-6. The road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 18 goals over those three matches. As for Prince Avenue Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 1-11.
