Basketball Recap: Adyson Weyandt's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Tussey Mountain over Everett

After flying high against Southern Fulton last Monday, Tussey Mountain came back down to earth. The Tussey Mountain Titans came up short against the Everett Warriors on Thursday, falling 51-31. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 59-48 back in January.

Tussey Mountain lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Adyson Weyandt, who went 6-for-11 to rack up 14 points. What's more, she also posted a 55% shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in February of 2024.

Addison Wood had an outrageously good game for Everett as she dropped a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds. Wood has become a key player for Everett: the team is 12-1 when she posts at least eight boards, but 3-5 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Lyla Levy, who posted 11 points and three steals.

Tussey Mountain's loss dropped their record down to 15-6. As for Everett, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.

Coming up, Tussey Mountain will host Conemaugh Township at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Conemaugh Township will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Tussey Mountain surely won't give up without a fight. As for Everett, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 51-49 defeat against Southern Huntingdon County on the 14th.
