Basketball Recap: Woodside Takes a Loss

On Saturday, the Woodside Wildcats came up short against the Scotts Valley Falcons and fell 56-48. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 869th, while the Falcons are ranked 239th).

Scotts Valley's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Samantha Rebbert, who posted 12 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. Rebbert is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least three every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklyn Williams, who had 18 points.

Woodside's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Scotts Valley, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 10-2.

Woodside will welcome Sequoia at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Scotts Valley, they are taking a road trip to face off against Aptos at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
