Football Recap: Streetsboro Beats Springfield for Their Second Straight Victory

If Springfield wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Streetsboro, they should've done a better job of containing Janiere Cook. The Rockets blew past the Spartans, posting a 49-7 victory thanks in part to Cook, who rushed for 120 yards and four TDs on only 14 carries, and also picked up 74 receiving yards and one touchdown. Cook is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 105 every time he's taken the field this season.

The win made it two in a row for Streetsboro and bumps their season record up to 4-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 13 points in those games. As for Springfield, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Streetsboro will challenge Norton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rockets will need to watch out since the Panthers have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for Springfield, they will square off against Field at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Spartans will be up against the Falcons' rather soft defense (which has allowed 47.6 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
