Football Game Preview: Prairie View Buffalos vs. Burlington Wildcats

The Prairie View Buffalos will take on the Burlington Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Prairie View will be strutting in after a victory while Burlington will be coming in after a defeat.

Prairie View will bounce into Friday's matchup after beating Wellsville, who they had gone 1-6 against in their seven prior meetings. The Buffalos came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 42-35 last Friday.

Parker Schwarz was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 288 yards and four TDs while picking up 9.9 yards per carry. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in September of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Wyatt Attebery, who rushed for 114 yards and one score on only six carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Prairie View was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 470 rushing yards. They rushed for 211 more rushing yards than Wellsville's also-impressive total of 259.

Meanwhile, Burlington fell victim to Baldwin and their airtight defense on Friday. They were outmatched by the Bulldogs and fell 35-0. Having soared to a lofty 45 points in the game before, the Wildcats' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Prairie View now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Burlington, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Prairie View strolled past Burlington when the teams last played back in September of 2024 by a score of 50-34. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Wildcats' Brody Anderson, who picked up 140 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also rushed for 54 yards and one TD.
