Baseball Recap: Grovetown Comes Up Short

Grovetown lost against Archer last Wednesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Grovetown Warriors fell 5-2 to the Archer Tigers. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ethan Strength spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered five earned runs on six hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Grovetown saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Boston Rowan, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Grovetown's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Archer, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.

While Grovetown had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
