After flying high against Columbus on Wednesday, Gretna came back down to earth. The Dragons fell 9-5 to the Westview Wolverines on Wednesday. The Dragons' defeat signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

Emerson Johnson was cooking despite her team's loss, firing off three home runs while going 4-for-4. Kenadie Barton was another key player, firing off two home runs while going 2-for-4.

Gretna's loss dropped their record down to 24-7. As for Westview, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-9 record this season.

Gretna didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 12-2 win against Lincoln Northeast on the 9th. Hopefully Westview paid attention to the Dragons' contest: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Dragons at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday.
