Basketball Recap: Villanova Prep Wildcats vs. Santa Clara Saints
Villanova Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 52-48 heartbreaker at the hands of the Santa Clara Saints. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 34-31 last Monday.
Santa Clara's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Angelina Serna, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 boards. Those 11 rebounds gave Serna a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sofia Peralta, who posted 13 points in addition to seven boards and three steals.
Villanova Prep's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Santa Clara, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-4.
Villanova Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Santa Clara has also already played their next match, a 58-16 win against Dunn on the 30th.
