There's no place like home for Portage, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Merrillville Pirates on Tuesday. The Indians haven't had any issues with the Pirates recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

While Portage won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 26-24, 25-17.

Emma Mcwilliams paced Portage's offense, picking up 11 kills. Mcwilliams were helped by Ainsley Cline and Ella Klakoski, who contributed 17 assists each. Julianne Imes controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.

Portage's victory bumped their record up to 11-14. As for Merrillville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season.
