Volleyball Game Preview: Reed-Custer Comets vs. Wilmington Wildcats

Reed-Custer hasn't had much luck against Wilmington recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Comets will venture away from home to challenge the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m.

On Tuesday, Reed-Custer came up short against Herscher and fell 2-0.

While Reed-Custer ultimately came up short, they really made Herscher work, particularly in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 26-24.

Meanwhile, Wilmington entered their tilt with Streator on Tuesday with nine consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with ten. They came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 2-0.

Wilmington never let Streator on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 26-24.

Reed-Custer's loss dropped their record down to 3-25. As for Wilmington, their win bumped their record up to 22-3.

Reed-Custer couldn't quite get it done against Wilmington when the teams last played back in September as they fell 2-0. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Wildcats' Sami Liaromatis, who had 12 digs and five aces.
