Football Recap: Bear River Comes Up Short on the Road Against Cedar

Bear River had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They were dealt a 51-14 loss at the hands of the Cedar Reds. The Bears were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 30-7.

Jaxson Theurer threw for 168 yards and two touchdowns. Eli Braegger was his top target, picking up 112 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

Cedar's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Slade Parsons led the charge by picking up 151 receiving yards and a pair of scores, while also punching in one TD on the ground. Parsons was no stranger to the big play, lighting up the secondary with a catch that went for 50 yards. Another back making a difference was Braxton Demille, who rushed for 153 yards and three touchdowns.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bear River will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Cottonwood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Cedar, they will host Pine View at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 1,117 yards in their previous games.
