Softball Game Preview: Crisp County Cougars vs. Fitzgerald Purple Hurricane

The Crisp County Cougars will venture away from home to challenge the Fitzgerald Purple Hurricane at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

On Thursday, Crisp County came up short against Pierce County and fell 5-2. The Cougars haven't had much luck with the Bears recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Meanwhile, Fitzgerald fell victim to Thomasville and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 18-0.

Fitzgerald's loss dropped their record down to 3-24. As for Crisp County, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-11.

Everything went Crisp County's way against Fitzgerald in their previous matchup back in August, as Crisp County made off with a 17-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
