Softball Recap: Highlands Ranch Comes Up Short

Highlands Ranch extended their losing streak to 12 on Monday, dropping them down to 1-16. They took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Douglas County Huskies. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Highlands Ranch saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cricket Keppel, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double.

As for Douglas County, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-10. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games.

On Douglas County's side, Reese Bowman was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That's the most hits Bowman has posted since September 4th. Another player making a difference was Brynn Berchem, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run and one RBI.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Highlands Ranch will face off against rival Heritage at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Douglas County is set to square off against their familiar foe Castle View at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
