Trent Battle lifts No. 13 Trojans past Spanish Fort for second time in school history.
No new teams entered this week's MaxPreps Alabama Top 25 high school football computer rankings, but Mountain Brook and Daphne made the biggest jumps, moving up a combined 17 spots.
Mountain Brook went from No. 19 to No. 9 following a 31-22 win over previous No. 14 Austin as quarterback
Strother Gibbs accounted for four touchdowns.
Daphne jumped from No. 20 to No. 13 after a 21-7 victory over Spanish Fort, which came in riding a seven-game win streak. A strong second half, particularly by running back
Trent Battle, carried the Trojans, who open 7A playoff action at home against 18th-ranked Prattville.
The state's top-two ranked teams, No. 1 Thompson and No. 2 Hoover, will also host 7A playoff action on Friday. Thompson plays Grissom (Huntsville) (6-5) and Hoover hosts Sparkman (Harvest) (6-4). Both Thompson and Hoover were off last week.
