Utah high school football rankings: No. 18 Ridgeline moves up 19 spots

Jaxson Dart puts Utah in national spotlight with six touchdown passes for No. 1 Corner Canyon on ESPN.

It was moving time following Week 3 of the high school football season in Utah. Of the Top 25 teams in the MaxPreps computer rankings, 17 moved one direction or another, highlighted by Ridgeline (Millville), which jumped up 19 spots to No. 18 overall.

Wide receiver Strat Simmons caught nine passes for 106 yards in a 45-7 win over Farmington last week, helping his team improve to 2-0.

Sky View (Smithfield) continues to rise in the rankings as the Bobcats moved to No. 5 following a 45-0 win over Highland (Pocatello, Idaho). Sky View looks to get to 4-0 as it heads on the road to Idaho to play Madison (Rexburg).

Also new to the Top 25 is No. 21 Wasatch (Heber City) and Weber (Pleasant View) at No. 24. Both teams are off to undefeated starts.



The state got a big boost Friday night when ESPN broadcast No. 1 Corner Canyon (Draper) vs. No. 8 Bingham (South Jordan), After trailing until late in the second quarter, Corner Canyon pulled away for a 42-20 win.

Behind dynamic quarterback Jaxson Dart, the nationally-ranked Chargers had too much firepower, outscoring Bingham 28-7 over the last 25 minutes of the game.

How the Top 5 fared

* No. 1 Corner Canyon defeated No. 8 Bingham, 42-20.


* No. 3 American Fork defeated West (Salt Lake City), 43-19.



* No. 4 Skyridge (Lehi) defeated Orem, 35-14.

* No. 5 Sky View deated Highland, 45-0.

Stat stars

Jaxson Dart, Corner Canyon: Threw for 277 yards and six touchdowns and rushed for 110 yards in a 42-20 win over Bingham.

Spencer Ferguson, Davis (Kaysville): Rushed 25 times for 233 yards and three touchdowns in a 44-0 win over Northridge (Layton).

Ethan Jackson, Alta (Sandy): Completed 18 of 26 for 294 yards and four touchdowns, and he ran for another in a 51-12 win over Tooele.



Maddux Madsen, American Fork: Completed 23 of 38 for 395 yards and four touchdowns in a 43-19 win over West.

Christian Wren, Lehi: Had 24 tackles, two for loss, two QB hurries, a pass deflection and caused fumble in a 28-18 win over Riverton.

Game of The Week

Park City fought back from a 27-7 halftime deficit, but couldn't overcome 280 yards passing and four touchdowns passes from Brayden Bunnell, who led Pine View (St. George) to a wild 41-40 road victory.
