Baseball Recap: Brantley County Triumphs

Brantley County extended their postseason success on Friday against Gordon Lee. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Trojans, sneaking past 2-1. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Herons as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Brody Howell spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Brantley County's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Eli Thomas, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double. That's the most hits Thomas has posted since back in February.

Brantley County's win bumped their record up to 9-22. As for Gordon Lee, their defeat dropped their record down to 30-2.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Trojans beat Brantley County by a score of 5-3 later that day.
