Kami Gillis leads Escondido Charter to victory over Hoover

Recap: Escondido Charter White Tigers vs. Hoover Cardinals

The Escondido Charter White Tigers entered their tilt with the Hoover Cardinals with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. Escondido Charter narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Hoover 62-60. With that victory, Escondido Charter brought their scoring average up to 50 points per game.

Kami Gillis was her usual excellent self, going 8 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 32 points and 2 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cc Goss, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

Myesha Frank and Jewel Parker certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Frank scored 19 points along with five rebounds and four steals, while Parker scored 19 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Parker is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games she's played. Jada Moore was another key contributor, scoring six points along with 11 rebounds and three blocks.

Escondido Charter is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-11 record this season. As for Hoover, their loss dropped their record down to 14-12.

Escondido Charter won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Rock Academy at 5:30 p.m. on February 6th. Escondido Charter is coming into the contest with five straight victories on the road, so Rock Academy is out to stop a team with plenty of momentum. Hoover will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Crawford at 6:15 p.m. on February 8th. Hoover is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 50 points per game this season.
