Piedmont had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it seven on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Elgin Owls, sneaking past 3-1. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since September 21, 2024, but that streak is no more.

Piedmont's win bumped their record up to 11-2. As for Elgin, their loss dropped their record down to 9-5.

Piedmont didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 5-2 victory against Norman North on the 29th. As for Elgin, they will head out on the road to take on Lawton at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
