Baseball Recap: Mill Springs Academy Gets the Win

Mill Springs Academy won the last time they faced Cottage and things went their way on Wednesday too. Mill Springs Academy walked away with a 9-6 win over the Cottage Cougars.

Kadyn McSween was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. McSween was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Leo Stormont, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-2. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March of 2024. Konrad Fletcher was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.

Mill Springs Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cottage only posted a batting average of .263.

Mill Springs Academy's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Cottage, they dropped their record down to 0-3 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mill Springs Academy will challenge North Georgia HomeSchool at 3:00 p.m. on March 20th. As for Cottage, they will square off against Cross Keys at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
