Baseball Recap: Holy Spirit Prep Picks Up Fourth Straight Win at Home

It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Holy Spirit Prep ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Heritage Preparatory Rams 6-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Cougars have posted since March 19, 2024.

Andrew Wingate made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out ten over nine innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single earned run any time he's pitched this season. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Anthony Lombardi, who scored two runs and stole Four bases. while going 3-for-5. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March of 2024. Eli Lewis was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases and one RBI.
