Basketball Recap: Torres Snags Tenth Victory in Last 12 Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against San Joaquin Memorial, Torres was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They walked away with a 38-29 win over the Madera South Stallions. The Toros have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Stallions, too.

Torres' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was JLynn Mitchell, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylin Perez, who posted six points and five steals.

Several Stallions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was TRACY JIMENEZ, who earned eight points. MAYRILIN VASQUEZ was another key player, putting up nine points.

Torres is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. As for Madera South, the defeat snapped their winning streak at seven games and leaves them with a 10-9 record.

Torres will square off against Bullard at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bullard has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 204 points over their last three matchups. As for Madera South, they will challenge McLane at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
