Basketball Game Preview: Rise Kohyang Tritons vs. Smidt Tech Grey Wolves

The Rise Kohyang Tritons will head out on the road to take on the Smidt Tech Grey Wolves at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Last Friday, Rise Kohyang came up short against Camino Nuevo Dalzell Lance Campus and fell 23-14. While losing is never fun, the Tritons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1047th, while the Tigers are ranked 443rd).

Meanwhile, Smidt Tech was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 28-15 to Camino Nuevo Dalzell Lance Campus. That's two games in a row now that the Grey Wolves have lost by exactly 13 points.

Rise Kohyang has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. As for Smidt Tech, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.

Everything went Rise Kohyang's way against Smidt Tech when the teams last played back in December of 2024, as Rise Kohyang made off with a 36-10 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Rise Kohyang since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
