Baseball Recap: Forest Park Comes Up Short

Forest Park was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fayette County Tigers.

Carmello Turner was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. Jaylin Johnson also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Forest Park's loss dropped their record down to 8-16. As for Fayette County, with the win, they broke their 18-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-21.

Coming up, Forest Park will take on Morrow at 5:55 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Fayette County, they will square off against Sandy Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Patriots have averaged an impressive 8.1 runs per game this season.
