Football Recap: McKinley Tech Trainers vs. Bell Griffins

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact McKinley Tech can now relate to. They were beaten by the Bell Griffins 44-0 on Monday. The Trainers haven't had much luck with the Griffins recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Antonio Washington and Marquette Jenkins. Washington rushed for 208 yards and one score on only 14 carries while Jenkins rushed for 193 yards and a pair of TDs on only 12 carries. With that strong performance, Washington is now averaging an impressive 103.7 rushing yards per game. Jakari Graham did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 94 receiving yards.

McKinley Tech's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Bell, they pushed their record up to 9-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

McKinley Tech does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Bell, they will face off against Ron Brown at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
