Soccer Recap: Irwin County Comes Up Short

After flying high against Turner County last Thursday, Irwin County came back down to earth. The Irwin County Indians lost 10-0 to the Brooks County Trojans on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Indians in their meetings with the Trojans: they've now lost seven in a row.

Irwin County's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Brooks County, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.

Irwin County will square off against Atkinson County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Brooks County, they will face off against Echols County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Brooks County will be up against Echols County's rather soft defense (which has allowed 3.71 goals per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
