Football Game Preview: Perryton Rangers vs. Greenwood Rangers + How To Watch

Perryton will take on Greenwood at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Perryton turned things around against Borger on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 42-23 victory over the Bulldogs. That looming 42-23 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Rangers yet this season.

Perryton can attribute much of their success to Cooper Ryan Schilling, who rushed for 147 yards and a pair of TDs on only 12 carries, and Isaac Arellano, who gained 263 total yards and two touchdowns. The dominant performance also gave Arellano a new career-high in rushing yards (185). Gordo Estrada was in the mix too, providing Perryton with two touchdowns.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Perryton was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 345 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Greenwood). They blew past Snyder 67-35 on Friday. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 48-14.

Perryton's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 4-6. As for Greenwood, their record now sits at 10-0.

Perryton strolled past Greenwood when the teams last played back in November of 2021 by a score of 35-19. Will Perryton repeat their success, or does Greenwood has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
