Baseball Recap: Ankeny Takes a Loss

Ankeny came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Johnston Dragons, falling 9-2. The Hawks have struggled against the Dragons recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Ankeny's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Johnston, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Ankeny will square off against rival Waukee at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Johnston is set to challenge their familiar foe Ankeny Centennial at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
