Baseball Game Preview: Harris County Tigers vs. Starr's Mill Panthers

Harris County has won five straight games at home, while Starr's Mill has won five straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Tigers will host the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Harris County 3.2, Starr's Mill 2.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Harris County is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Northside just ended the team's six-game winning streak on Friday. They lost 7-1 to the Patriots. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Tigers have suffered since March 7th.

Harris County saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ashton Herring, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Starr's Mill's hitters rose to the challenge against an Indians pitching crew that boasted an average of only 2.84 runs allowed on Tuesday. The Panthers put the hurt on East Coweta with a sharp 10-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won 12 games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Harris County's defeat dropped their record down to 21-6. As for Starr's Mill, their win bumped their record up to 18-6.

Harris County came out on top in a nail-biter against Starr's Mill in their previous matchup back in March of 2022, sneaking past 9-7. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
