Softball Recap: Higbee Comes Up Short

Glasgow hit Higbee with a four-run second inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Tigers lost 8-0 to the Yellowjackets. The game marked the first time this season in which the Tigers were not able to get on the board.

Kiersten Rockett spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and four unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up six Ks.

This is the second loss in a row for Higbee and nudges their season record down to 4-2. As for Glasgow, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

Higbee will head out to take on Atlanta at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hornets have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.22 runs per game on average), something the Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Glasgow, they will host Brunswick at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
